2020: from disaster to the ‘new normal’
2020. The year the majority of us never want to have repeated. The pandemic has affected everyone; rich, poor, middle class, young, old and all the ages in between, irrespective of gender, culture, race, language, religion or whatever else, we, as humans, use to divide us. No one will escape its effect. However, it has also taught us the most valuable lessons, albeit forcibly. People matter. Animals matter. We all matter. Time only passes once and you need to make the best of the moment while you can.
We have learnt to use technology more beneficially. The virus cannot spread through phone lines nor fibre. We maximised our performance through technology, collaborations and improved planning and time management. And this has become our ‘new normal’. A state to which we, our economy, society, communities etc settle following the COVID-19 pandemic.
At Fire and Rescue International, we have tried our best to still bring you our usual product line up during this period of lockdown, settling for digital communication during the hard lockdown in South Africa and praying that we, as a small business, will make it through for the sake of our staff and their families as well as our readers and advertisers.
We trust that you have enjoyed the weekly FRI Newsletter and monthly product news. Magazines were published digitally on our website as our printers were also closed. A huge thank you to all our contributors and advertisers.
So from all of us at Fire and Rescue International, we thank you for your continued support!
