Training: Fire fighter survival: how to use hose couplings as directional indicators
Getting disoriented and lost inside a structure fire is a danger every fire fighter faces when entering an unfamiliar building that's filled with smoke. Prevention is the first step to avoiding a LODD or injury but preparation and being able to quickly react to a life and death situation is also essential. This video serves both as a review as well as an introduction on how to use couplings on a hose line as directional indicators. Also included in the video is a description of an easy to make prop that can be used to teach and reinforce this skill.
