The Queensland Fire Department’s Drayton Fire and Rescue Station was officially opened in Toowoomba on 22 January 2025, housing permanent and auxiliary firefighters. Featuring a three-bay appliance room, duty office, training room, recreation facilities and includes additional space for specialist equipment. This modern facility replaces the former Anzac Avenue Fire and Rescue Station and is designed to better serve the growing regional area.
The new station is a significant improvement, offering more space and updated facilities to enhance the capabilities of the Queensland Fire Department (QFD) in Drayton. The official opening ceremony marked the start of the station's service to the local community. The new station is equipped to handle a variety of emergencies, including fires, medical incidents and other rescues.
The Drayton Fire and Rescue Station is part of a larger effort by the Queensland Fire Department to modernise its facilities and improve its response capabilities across the state. The new station is well-positioned to serve the growing population and needs of the Drayton area.
