Vintage: Bethlehem Fire Department Pennsylvania, US, in the 1950s
Video made from 16mm archival film highlighting the Bethlehem PA Fire Department in Pennsylvania, US, in the 1950s. The film was professionally enhanced to HD. Included are firehouses, fire engines, station work and training. They even captured a house fire on the south side approximately near E. 3rd and Hayes. The video's hardly gone viral but for Bethlehem fire fighter Chris Eline, the nearly 9 000 views it's garnered in a few days shows that people, especially those with roots in the Christmas City, appreciate a good dose of nostalgia every once in a while. The video was shot by former Bethlehem fire Chief John Schweder some 60 years ago on 16mm film. Why he shot it is anyone's guess. Schweder, who served as chief for 28 years, died in 1990.
