Meet the Black Eagle: Tampa Fire Rescue’s newest fireboat, US

​Tampa Fire Rescue officially welcomed the Black Eagle, a 38-foot state-of-the-art fireboat, at a ceremony with city officials, fire leadership, and community partners. This advanced vessel will enhance our marine firefighting, search and rescue and emergency response capabilities across Tampa Bay and Port Tampa Bay. Equipped for firefighting, medical, dive and hazmat missions, the Black Eagle features:
 

• 1,500 GPM fire pump and foam system
• EMS cabin with shock-mitigating seats and full EMS access
• Dive/rescue storage and specialised access points
• Advanced electronics, thermal imaging, long-range searchlights
• Hazmat/CBRNE detection and pressurised filtration system

 
Stationed at Port 32 Marina and operated by the crews at Station 19, the Black Eagle is ready to respond immediately to emergencies on the water. A sister vessel will join the fleet in 2026, further strengthening Tampa Fire Rescue’s marine capabilities.
