A patient and an EMS paramedic died when an ambulance overturned on the R392, about 25km from Queenstown, in the Eastern Cape on Monday, 13 October 2025. Another paramedic was injured. According to Eastern Cape Health MEC Ntandokazi Capa, the driver lost control of the vehicle. Another paramedic was injured in the accident. “We lost a committed member in the call of duty,” Capa said.
“He leaves us at a time when we need his services.” Capa added that patients come to health facilities hoping to be healed, not to die. “It's very unfortunate that we lost a patient in this manner,” she said. “Once again, the Eastern Cape department of health is very sad to lose a valuable member and a patient in need of clinical care.” Source: Daily Dispatch |
