The City of Monticello Fire Department Station No 1 is situated in Monticello in Indiana in the US and was completed in 2017. This two-storey, 25 500-square-foot fire station includes six drive-through apparatus bays and dorm-style sleeping quarters support 12 fire fighters. The living space includes a day room and kitchen, a fitness area, a gear room and a 40-person training area/classroom that is also available to the public. The $7 million station sets the design standard and style for a new development in Monticello.
The Monticello Fire Department is the only full time fire department in the county. It provides fire and ALS Ambulance services to the City of Monticello, several townships and parts of neighbouring Carroll County.
The men and women of Monticello Fire Department respond to well over 3 000 calls for emergency services per year. The 23 fire fighter/paramedics and seven part time fire fighter/EMTs are working around the clock to keep residents and lake visitors safe.
