Three North Carolina fire fighters injured in apparatus rollover, US
A Charlotte Fire Department (CFD) engine was responding to a fire when the apparatus rolled over in a single-vehicle accident that sent three fire fighters to the hospital on Sunday, 20 December 2020. CFD Engine 28 was responding to a residential fire alarm around 4h30am Sunday before the crash. The fire engine crashed in the 5000 block of Sunset Road and rolled over onto its side. Four fire fighters were onboard and were evaluated on the scene after the incident. Three of the fire fighters were then transported to an area hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries for further evaluation but have since been released. The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department Major Crash Investigative Unit is looking into the incident.
