Six killed in Mexican Air Force Learjet accident in Veracruz
Six members of Mexico’s military died in an accident on Sunday morning, 21 February 2021, involving a Mexican Air Force aircraft in the south-eastern state of Veracruz, Mexico’s Defence Ministry said. The accident occurred as the Learjet 45 aircraft was taking off around 9h45am from an airport in the municipality of Emiliano Zapata, the ministry said in a statement. The six victims have not been identified and the military will carry out an investigation, the ministry added. It was not clear how many were aboard the plane.
"Expert reports are awaited by Ministry's Air Accidents Investigation and Judicial Commission and the Inspection and Comptroller General of the Army. The Air Force will then refer to the corresponding expert reports to determine the possible reasons for the crash." Sources: Aviation 24, The Sun |
