Mangaung crews respond to truck collision on N1, 40 km North of Bloemfontein
A heavy commercial vehicle rear ended another heavy commercial vehicle on the N1 highway about 40kms north of Bloemfontein in the Verkeerdevlei area on Tuesday, 17 November 2020. Braam van Zyl, divisional officer at Mangaung Fire and Rescue Service said, “We received the call of a heavy duty truck that hit another heavy duty truck from behind at 16h54. A fire engine with a crew off six responded along with the Free State Provincial Ambulance Services (EMS), Life Rosepark and Halo Air Ambulance Service. Crews arrived on scene at 17h37 and assisted with one entrapment who was extricated with hydraulic equipment and air lifted to Pelenomi Hospital. The scene was declared closed at 20h20.
