Two new chiefs appointment at Saldanha Fire and Policing, respectively
|

September 2025 saw the appointment of Ann Supra-Vertue as chief fire officer and Head of Fire and Rescue Services and Chief Lindie Kleynhans as Head of Policing and Law Enforcement of Saldanha Bay Municipality. “Today marks a historic day for Saldanha Bay Municipality. This morning, we officially welcomed two highly capable and dedicated leaders to critical positions within our institution: Chief Ann Supra-Vertue – Head of Fire and Rescue Services and Chief Lindie Kleynhans – Head of Policing and Law Enforcement. These two positions are at the very heart of our strategic focus on safety and security because without safe communities, we cannot build the clean, prosperous and united municipality we all dream of”, said Executive Mayor Andrè Truter.
“What makes this moment truly significant is not only that, for the first time in our history, both posts are being held by women but that they are being led by professionals of the highest calibre. Both Chiefs bring immense experience, dedication and passion for serving our people. Their leadership assures us that our residents are in capable hands”, said Mayor Truter.
He added, “As Mayor, I am immensely proud of this milestone. Today we take a massive step forward towards realising our vision of a safe and clean Saldanha Bay Municipality, where every resident can thrive with dignity and hope. I call on all of us — councillors, officials and community members to give our full support to Chief Supra-Vertue and Chief Kleynhans as they lead with courage, excellence and integrity. Together, we are building the future we want to see.”
