Two pedestrians killed by truck in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni

Picture
Two unknown female pedestrians were killed by an articulate truck and declared dead on scene by paramedics after a gruesome accident at the intersection of Koedoe Avenue and the P91 Road in Birchleigh, Kempton Park, in Ekurhuleni. William Ntladi, district manager media liaison for the Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) said, “City of Ekurhuleni`s rescue team from Kempton Fire Station received the call at 09h36 and swiftly responded to the address given. On arrival, one motionless adult female patient was found lying under the truck while the second was lying on the pavement next to the tail trailer of the truck. Both were unfortunately declared deceased by paramedics who were in attendance. The truck driver escaped with no injuries. The cause of the accident is still a subject of investigation by the City`s traffic officers, EMPD, in conjunction with South African Police Services` officers.
