Multi-million dollar vehicle handover in Guigang City, China
Guigang City, Guangxi Province held a handover ceremony for 22 fire apparatus over 100 million yuan. The handover ceremony of fire vehicles was held on the morning of 15 January 2019 in New Century Plaza, with 21 imported and domestic fire engines and more than 3 000 pieces of equipment worth a total of 115 million yuan. High-precision fire fighting equipment was officially delivered to the municipal fire brigade for use.
At 10h30 in the morning, 22 new fire fighting apparatus were lined up and more than 600 people dressed in flame-blue winter uniforms, orange rescue PPE, fire fighting commanders, members of the Consumer Safety Committee and key units were neatly lined up. In a grand ceremony, the delivery officially began in a festive atmosphere. At the ceremony, Li Weimin, the captain of the Guangxi Fire Corps and Li Xinyuan, secretary of the Guigang Municipal Party Committee, presented speeches.
Subsequently, Li Xinyuan, secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Li Wei, political commissar of the Municipal Fire Brigade, conducted a golden key handover ceremony for fire vehicles.
Among the 22 apparatus handed over, there is a 101-metre reach ladder truck, fire engines, 54-metre platforms, 50-metre articulated boom fire engines and 18-metre articulated boom fire engines, 12-ton water tankers/foam fire engines, dry powder (DCP) foam fire engines, wall demolition fire truck, smoke exhaust (PPV) unit, high-rise water supply fire engine, compressed air foam (CAF) fire engine, high-power lighting vehicle, modular loading and offloading vehicles, dry powder (DCP) foam combination fire engines, fire fighting and rescue equipment, emergency repair vehicles and water tankers.
The delivery of the newly purchased fire engines is a milestone in the history of the fire fighting equipment manufacturer in Guigang City. It will play an important role in the future of fire fighting and rescue. It also marks a step forward in the construction of fire fighting vehicle equipment in Guigang City. One step has greatly improved the fire fighting and rescue capability of Guigang City, providing a strong guarantee for the successful completion of fire fighting and rescue missions in the future.
In recent years, with the rapid development of Guigang's social economy, the concentration zones of industrial parks and township enterprises have expanded rapidly and the number of high-rise, underground, urban complexes and large-span buildings has increased and fire hazards have also shown an upward trend. Especially for high-rise buildings, there are 546 high-rise buildings in the city and 20 residential buildings taller than 100 metres. In order to meet the emergency rescue tasks in the new era and ensure the safety of people's lives and property to the greatest extent, the municipal government attaches great importance to it. In the past five years, it has invested a total of 77,68 million yuan and built three new fire stations. During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, the construction of 19 fire stations and a fire training base in the city were all vigorously promoted and the progress was gratifying. In 2018, the municipal government decided to invest 115 million yuan in one-time purchase of 21 fire engines and more than 3 000 pieces of high-precision fire fighting equipment.
It is reported that a large number of the purchased items are ‘high-precision’ vehicle equipment purchased from Austria, France, Japan and the United States. Among them, Bolangtao’s 101-metre ladder fire engine, which is the highest ascending fire truck in the world. At present, there are only two of these vehicles in Guangxi.
