Rural Metro expands its IFSAC-accredited training portfolio

Rural Metro Emergency Management Services has expanded its IFSAC-accredited training portfolio, giving firefighters, rescuers and emergency services professionals access to an even broader range of internationally recognised certification programmes. The newly accredited Technical Rescuer courses include Confined Space Rescue, Heavy Vehicle Rescue, Structural Collapse Rescue, Surface Water Rescue, Swiftwater Rescue and Trench Rescue. Each discipline is available at Awareness, Operations and Technician levels, creating clear development pathways from foundational knowledge to advanced operational competence.
The expanded portfolio also includes Public Safety Telecommunicator I and II, recognising the essential contribution emergency communications personnel make to coordinated and effective incident response. A comprehensive range of Incident Management Personnel programmes is now available, covering roles such as Incident Commander, Public Information Officer, Liaison Officer, Operations Section Chief, Planning Section Chief and Logistics Section Chief, together with several specialised unit, branch, division and team leadership positions.
Further additions include Incident Safety Officer, Wildland Firefighter I and First Responder Inspector, extending professional development opportunities across operational response, safety, inspection and incident coordination.
IFSAC accreditation provides independent assurance that certification programmes meet internationally recognised standards. For trainees and their employers, this means qualifications are supported by rigorous training and assessment requirements aligned with the relevant NFPA professional standards. It also gives organisations confidence that personnel are being prepared against consistent competencies for demanding emergency environments.
