Two ICS courses in October 2021 in Cape Town: Incident Command System (ICS) I100 - I300 and Emergency Operations Centre Training
Dynamic Incident Management is presenting ICS for Expanding Incidents and Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) training in Cape Town at the Durbanville Conference Centre in Durbanville. Studies have discovered that response problems could rarely be attributed to a lack of resources or failure of tactics but due to the lack of incident and resource management. ICS provides a systematic, proactive approach, is a standardised, on-scene, all hazards incident management system. Although the system encourages standardisation, it is flexible in organisational structure and expand and contract to meet the incident needs.

An EOC is responsible for the strategic overview or ‘big picture’ of the incident/disaster and does not normally directly control field assets, instead making operational supportive and strategic decisions and leaving tactical decisions to the incident management team (IMT) at the incident command post. The common functions of all EOCs is to collect, gather and analyse data; make decisions that protect life and property, maintain continuity of the organisation, within the scope of applicable laws and disseminate those decisions to all concerned agencies and individuals by the emergency coordinator (EC). In most EOCs there is one individual in charge and that is the emergency manager. Modules include: Organisational structure and staffing, EOC design, technology and equipment, situational awareness, EOC operations and public information and warnings, emergency preparedness and emergency communications.
