TFA 2023 Overall Female winner, Maithamako Moswete of West Rand District Municipality, shares her experience
Our Overall Female winner of this year’s Toughest Firefighter Alive was Maithamako Moswete of West Rand District Municipality’s Team Nzuri. She shares the following with us, “It was an honour and privilege to compete at the TFA. I thank God for giving me the opportunity to compete this year. I was supposed to compete last year but unfortunately I got injured during the training. My plan was just to enjoy and complete the course but by the grace of God, l am the overall female winner. It was not easy but it was with it. I met people from different municipalities and provinces. I have made new friends. It was a very nice experience.” She continued,
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the following people for their support: My Fire Chief Mr Gerald Nieuwoudt for encouraging us and giving us the opportunity to train at the station, my team leader Mr Manie Gouws for the training love and all the teachings. I really appreciate and I am learning a lot from you. If it was not for you I was not going to make it. To my team members thank you for the love and support. I am so proud to be a Nzuri. Lastly, my family, thank you guys you are awesome!”
“TFA brought a positive impact in the service. My skills and fitness have improved so much. My mind set is on another level. To new participants go there and enjoy. Do your best and God will do the rest.”
