Fire truck rollover leaves Fort Worth firefighter in critical condition, Texas, US

One firefighter was critically injured condition on Tuesday, 6 February 2024, after an accident involving a Fort Worth Fire Department fire truck at 02h34am. Four firefighters were in the fire truck, all were transported to the hospital. In addition to the firefighter in critical condition, one firefighter remains in stable condition and two other firefighters have been released from the hospital. The accident happened near the intersection of Village Creek and Wilbarger, close to the Eugene McCray Community Centre.
The fire truck involved in the accident was responding as an alarm assignment to a single-family house fire in the 4500 block of Pecos Street when the crash occurred. The alarm was dispatched at Fire Station 3 at 02h29am. Another fire engine responded to the house fire call following the accident.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Fort Worth Police Department. At this time, no other vehicles appear to be involved. Names are not being released until all family members have been notified.
“Our foremost priority is supporting the wellbeing of our firefighters and their families in this difficult moment,” said Fort Worth Fire Chief Jim Davis, “We appreciate the support and prayers of the Fort Worth community as we stand by the injured and their families.”
“Our firefighters are always there for our community and right now, we need the community’s prayers for their recovery and healing,” said Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker.
On Tuesday, two of the firefighters were released from the hospital. As of Wednesday afternoon, two firefighters remain hospitalised. One is undergoing surgery and one remains in critical condition but is showing positive signs of improvement and is officially breathing on his own, the Fire Department said.

We have spoken to the families of the injured firefighters and the firefighters themselves. It's with their permission we provide you some details on who was involved in the Engine 3 rollover incident, their current status and their roles within the Fort Worth Fire Department.
Captain Daniel Terrell (age 46) has been with the department for 18 years; he sustained serious/life-threatening injuries and remains in the ICU.
Firefighter Clint Robinson (age 42) has been with the department for 18 years; he underwent surgery this afternoon and continues to receive treatment in the hospital.
Engineer Matthew Schneider (age 42) has been with the department for 22 years; he was released from the hospital on Tuesday (2/6) with minor injuries.
Firefighter Devin Kuhn (age 33) has been with the department just shy of five years; he was released from the hospital on Tuesday (2/6) with minor injuries.

“We are beyond excited to announce that Firefighter Clint Robinson was discharged today after a very successful surgery yesterday afternoon. Clint now starts the healing and rehabilitation process for the next three to six months.
Firefighter Robinson says, "My family and I are aware of the countless comments and prayers. We don't know how to say 'thank you' because there is no way we could thank each and every one of you. But we are so grateful."
Additionally, Captain Daniel Terrell took another positive step in the right direction! He has been moved from the Intensive Care Unit to a Step Down Unit where he continues to make remarkable progress.
We have no doubt that these positive updates are because of the support, love and prayers of our community, neighbours and friends. THANK YOU... and keep those prayers coming.”
