The World Rescue Organisation appoints Deputy Extrication Leads
|

The World Rescue Organisation (WRO) announced the appointment of three Deputy Extrication Leads.
The three Deputy Extrication Leads are Carlos Amaro from Portugal, Julius Fleischman from South Africa and Paul Hamer from the United Kingdom.
All three bring a considerable wealth of knowledge and experience to the WRO.
They will be taking up specific references, which will see the continuing development of Extrication Standards, Assessing, Safety and the Rescue Challenge. “On behalf of the WRO welcome to you all.”
The dates of World Rescue Challenge 2024 have changed from 24 to 28 September 2024 to 5 to 9 November 2024. After assessing all the aspects, the World Rescue Organisation (WRO) and Associação Nacional de Salvamento e Desencarceramento (ANSD) have unanimously agreed to change the dates, considered that postponing the WRC would have more advantages than disadvantages for all the players involved (organisation, WRO members, sponsors, teams, etc), particularly in terms of costs.
Indeed, in November, the challenge will be out with the main tourist time, so that accommodation and travel will be cheaper. In addition, weather conditions are expected to be better at this time of year. This decision was taken by the joint WRO and ANSD WRC2024 Committee. “We want to thank you for your understanding with regards to this change and we look forward to welcoming you to WRC2024 between the 5th and 9th November on Terceira Island, Azores, Portugal.,” said the WRO.
