Historic film 1962 Detroit Fire Department fighting fires. February 2019, 38 fire stations in the city of Detroit. Not including the fire headquarters. 27 engine companies, 13 ladder companies, six tactical mobile squads, a fireboat. Hazardous Material Response Unit and 24 Medic Ambulances and several specialized units. These fire stations and companies organized into eight battalions, each headed by one Battalion Chief each shift.
