An ambulance carrying a nine-month-old baby and mother overturned after hitting a pothole on the N8 in the Free State on Monday afternoon, 10 April 2023. According to the spokesperson of the Free State Department of Health, Mondli Mvambi, the accident happened at 14h25 on the N8 near Tweespruit. “The ambulance was transferring a patient from Senorita Ntlabathi Hospital in Ladybrand to Pelonomi Hospital in Bloemfontein.”
Mvambi said the baby was not injured and was transferred further by EMS Crew from Tweespruit but her mother complained of neck and shoulder pain. The mother was referred to Pelonomi Trauma. He furthermore said one of the crew members suffered moderate injuries while the other suffered minor injuries. They were taken to Señorita Ntlabathi for treatment. Source: The South African |
