A Merry Christmas to all from all of us at FRI!
This past year has left an imprint on us, some good and some painful. We have lost friends and loved ones, experienced sickness and breakups but there were the little ones born, new connections, marriages, promotions and new careers.
A wise man once said that we learn and grow more from our struggles than from when all is well. Robert Schuller said, “Problems are not stop signs, they are guidelines.” Louisa May Alcott said, “I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.” There are many more inspirational quotes guiding us on how we can grow both spiritually and mentally through facing and overcoming our challenges. We have a choice every day when we get up. Walk your talk! As we are readying ourselves for 2023, let’s take our lessons learnt with us and use them as stepping stones into the New Year, embracing its opportunities and challenges with open arms and guiding others through the year ahead. May 2023 bring fruition to dreams and lots of laughter! The Fire and Rescue International offices are closed for the Festive Season from Friday, 16 December 2021 and will reopen on Monday, 9 January 2023. This is the last newsletter for this year. We trust that you have enjoyed this weekly FRI Newsletter during 2022 and hope that you will keep reading in 2023! A VERY BIG THANK YOU to all our readers and advertisers for their support! But also a big thank you to those who regularly submit articles and photos on incidents, ensuring that the industry stays updated. Your support is priceless! To all our first responders that are on duty during the Festive Season, we wish you an uneventful period and, in the event of an incident, a positive result. To those travelling on holiday, travel safe and enjoy the rest and to those staying at home, spending time with family and friends, may it be a memorable time! Wishing all a safe, incident-free and blessed Christmas and a very successful, safe and happy 2023!
