Vintage: The oldest fire apparatus in the FDNY’s fleet that is in service, US
This video showcases a very unique Spare Apparatus Tower Ladder 161 has received for issues with the frontline truck, the Seagrave apparatus originates and was built in 1999 and belonged to Tower Ladder 9 of Manhattan. It was buried in rubble and severely damaged when the World Trade Centre Twin Towers fell on September 11 in 2001. The ladder was stationed at 42 Great Jones Street on 9/11. Ten of the 14 fire fighters at that station died on 9/11. It was repaired and placed into service again and it now resides as a spare rig and is currently the oldest fire apparatus in the FDNY’s fleet that is in service right now.
