Training: New crush door simulator for fire fighter forcible entry
This video will highlight a new forcible entry prop designed by Mike Perrone of the FDNY called the ‘Crush Door Simulator’. It was created to allow fire fighters the ability to practice a variety of methods for forcing outward opening commercial style doors. The unique advantage of this prop is that is uses sections of actual metal doors, which gives FFs a "real world" feel of forcing a commercial style door. We have two of these simulators at the fire training college that I teach for as well as one on my career fire department and I can tell you first hand it's an outstanding tool for training new and veteran fire fighters.
