Fire breaks out at Jubilee Mall in Hammanskraal, Pretoria

The City of Tshwane Emergency Services Department responded to a fire that broke out at Jubilee Mall in Hammanskraal on Monday, 27 May 2024. Deputy chief Charles Mabaso, public information and liaison officer for the City of Tshwane Emergency Services, said, “The emergency call centre received the call at approximately 11h26 where it was reported that a fire had broken out at one of the stores in the mall. Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters found that an Ackermans store was on fire and immediately started with firefighting operations.”
Mabaso added, “They also protected the PEP store from possible fire spread. The fire was contained and subsequently extinguished. Firefighters then started with the extinguishment of spot fires by taking out the burnt fire load and conducted ventilation to rid the building of excess smoke. No one was injured as a result of the fire. The extent of the damages has not yet been quantified.”
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
