Fast spreading grass fire results in explosions, Ekurhuleni
A grass fire broke out in Bredell in Ekurhuleni on Tuesday, 4 October 2022. High winds resulted in fast spread of fire to containers with flammable liquids. William Ntladi, district manager media liaison at Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS), said, “It is alleged the cause is grass fire. The call was received around 14h17. Crews responded swiftly from Albertina Sisulu Corridor Fire Station as primary responders. It was received as grass fire and on arrival it was found to be containers containing flammable liquids.”
