Body of 21-year-old male recovered from a river in Atteridgeville, Pretoria

​Divers from the City of Tshwane Emergency Services Department and the South African Police Service (SAPS) conducted the search and recovery of a body of a 21-year-old male who was alleged to have drowned at a river near Brazzaville Hardware in WF Nkomo Street in Atteridgeville, Pretoria. Charles Mabaso, deputy chief: public information and liaison officer at the  City of Tshwane Emergency Services, said, “It is alleged that the man fell into the river at around 06h00am on 30 September 2022.”
 
“The divers recovered the body at approximately 13h05”, said Mabaso.
 
He added, “Circumstances surrounding the drowning incident remain a subject of investigation by the SAPS.”
