Firefighters battle heavy flames at old New Jersey cardboard warehouse in Gloucester County, US

At around 21h45 on Thursday, 7 March 2024, Williamstown (Monroe) Township in Gloucester County was alerted to a building fire at an old abandon warehouse. Fire crews responded to the large building along Sykes Lane in Monroe Township at what is believed to be a former cardboard warehouse in South Jersey. The warehouse was around 93 000 ft² and first arriving officers reported fire showing from the C side. Due to this being a rural area with no hydrants in the area, tanker task forces were quickly requested to the scene. Task forces from Atlantic and Salem County responded to the multi alarm fire, which quickly went above three alarms.
Fire officers reported heavy fire throughout the large warehouse facility. Four ladder pipes are put in service with a fill site just down the block. Crews were on scene several hours all night and into the morning to battle the fire and finally got a good knock on the fire.
The cause of the fire is unknown and no further information is available at this time.
