Fitness: The get up exercise
This is a great exercise to improve mobility and balance and a great way to warm up for a shift or a workout. This is a modified/ beginner version of the Turkish Get-up. Muscle Groups Involved: total body, core. Start on the floor and lay down flat with arms overhead. In a controlled motion place one arm on the floor and one knee, from this position push with your legs to come to a standing position. Reverse the motion to get back to the floor and repeat using the other arm and leg. You can perform this movement in a variety of ways (no hands, different hand/ knee combinations). Stay in control of the movement, gradually try to improve the speed of the movement as you warm up. Continue alternating from side to side. Repeat as directed by your FRF workout and your level of fitness. Repeat often.
