Silv-ex Plus from Industrial Fire…… Because we care!
The increase in fires in the urban, suburban and rural areas is a constant concern for, not only our esteemed fire departments but also for the economy as a whole, not to mention the impact on our insurance companies. Then there is the concern around the reliance of our fire fighting activities on potable water supplied via the water distribution system. South Africa is currently faced with severe infrastructure challenges in order to meet the demand for service delivery and, in particular, the provision of water and sanitation. Traditionally, for most departments, not all, the default attack methodology is to apply specified volumes of water at predetermined pressures onto a fire incident as water has been the most commonly used fire extinguishing agent.

Silv-ex Plus breaks down the surface tension of water allowing it to effectively penetrate and soak into Class A fuels. The foam bubble created by Silv-ex Plus adheres to vertical or three dimensional surfaces for added structural protection whilst creating a dense foam blanket with excellent insulating properties cutting off the air from the fuel. Silv-ex Plus creates a brilliant white foam that reflects heat and ultimately suppresses combustible vapours whilst cooling the fuel. Not only is Silv-ex Plus the premium Class A foam on the market, it is also suitable for use on thin film flammable liquid Class B hydrocarbon fires making it an excellent multi-purpose foam for our fire departments and can be effectively used with aspirating and non-aspirating devices, CAFS or dropped from fixed or rotary-wing aircraft.
