Both systems were created to fill a huge gap in weather information within the forestry and other general industries allowing us to share weather data such as Fire Danger Index, temperature, wind etc between linked users. This has now created a huge dynamic (near live) portal. Our VitalWeather system is virtually the only LIVE system available in Southern Africa ie, all data available at five-minute intervals. There is no point of data that is several hours old. Users and operators can now build and view the big picture to plan for burning of firebreaks, trash burning and felling operations. Alerts and emails with five-day future forecasts are sent daily for adverse weather conditions to any number of users.
All of our data is stored on a safe and secure server, this then enables users to review old past data at any point in time. This feature then becomes extremely useful when analysing an actual fire or attempting to sort out an insurance claim for or against you.
Some insurance claims can be litigated for years, which make old historical data extremely valuable and absolutely necessary.
VitalWeather can also be utilised by a multitude of other users such as agronomists, nursery growers etc, to view and plan for the future.
